An attempt to turn the concept of the readymade on its head by building things that suggested a practical function eventually lead to an object that did work, although not in any practical way. Sight/Site is a device that creates a well-known phenomenon: an illusion of 'infinite regression.' The phenomenon suggests that the viewer or observer is seeing something of seeing itself, or that the work is 'looking back' at the viewer. A palpable connection is thus made between work and viewer through a perceptual act. The infinite regression, shown above, is seen through a centered peep hole on the back of the device as the viewer gazes into another mirror the same size mounted on a wall across from it in perfect alignment. The mirror images become a hypothetical site for sight itself.
