Pulse 2014 Paper, (sheet music fragments), glue on board. 32 x 40 inches.
Pulse is made from cut and torn pieces of sheet music arranged in a series of concentric circles, denser in the center and radiating out. This radiating structure uses musical notes to represent sound waves. The notes are disrupted or scattered in a way that utilizes the density of the printed symbols as the visual equivalent of an explosion of sound.
