Wall Charts 1975
20 drawings, ink on paper with typed headings,
each 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
Wall Charts , a series of austere ink line drawings on sheets of typing
paper, are studies to scale (1 in. = 1 ft.) for works to be delineated on walls,
in either black tape or black paint. The project, conceived in the summer
of 1975 is described in a note in a subsequent limited edition artist's book
as a series of: 'Mathechemimusipoetic' symbols. A drawing from the series
was realized as one actual wall chart, executed at the San Francisco Art
Institute in the fall of that year for 'The Information Show'. Wall Charts are
drawings in the spirit of Conceptual art and as such can stand on their
own as elements in a kind of 'instruction manual.'
